A Bit About Me
As a retired law enforcement professional and Mental Health Counselor, I bring a unique perspective and deep understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families impacted by high-stress professions. My background in public safety, combined with working as a therapist in the Department of Corrections, has given me firsthand insight into the effects of trauma, chronic stress, burnout, and the demands that service-oriented careers can place on individuals and their loved ones.
I specialize in trauma-informed therapy and work with first responders, corrections professionals, military members, veterans, EMS personnel, and their families. I understand that the impact of these careers extends beyond the individual, often affecting spouses, partners, children, and family relationships. My goal is to help clients and families strengthen communication, build resilience, navigate life transitions, and heal from the effects of trauma and stress.
In addition to traditional counseling approaches, I am trained in Equine-Assisted Therapy, which provides a unique opportunity for growth, healing, and self-discovery. This experiential approach can help clients develop emotional awareness, confidence, trust, and healthy coping skills in a supportive environment.
I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel understood and empowered. Drawing on my professional and personal experiences, I strive to help individuals and families identify their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve lasting emotional wellness and personal growth.
